So, I have recently been checking out people's blogs and decided that I should probably jump on the band wagon. It really seems like a lot of fun, although my life isn't super interesting at the moment!
Currently what is weighing on my mind most is the fact that I am leaving IU in a few short days. I will begin student teaching in January (in LaPorte), and eventually finish up my teaching in Blaxland, Australia (starting in March). I am SO excited for this change of pace, however it's a little weird to think that my time at IU is essentially over. While I will "technically" be and IU student until May, my college lifestyle is definitely something of the past. I find myself talking about lesson planning and job searches instead of the usual college talk. It's weird, but good weird. It's what I've been working for since I started college and I am so excited. I am lucky that I picked a major that I love and that I am excited to begin my new life as an educator. I am seriously passionate about teaching, education, and children in general and I feel very fortunate that I am at this point. Still, it's weird.
I'm sad to leave my friends, to be separated from my boyfriend, to leave college behind me, and ESPECIALLY to leave the kids that I have been babysitting for the past 3 years. Still... it's all very exciting and new. I have no idea what to expect, and I am so excited to find out what's in store. Just wish me luck :). And any teachers with any words of wisdom, I am always open to suggestions!
